Conference 2021

The 2021 International Philosophy of Nursing Conference will be held at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, 16-18 June, 2021. This will be the 24th annual nursing philosophy conference, postponed from 2020

The three-day conference focuses on ‘Personhood: philosophies, applications and critiques in healthcare’.

All abstracts accepted for the conference planned to be held in August 2020 have been invited for presentations at the conference in June 2021.

A new call for abstracts will open in October 2020. We invite contributions that explore notions of personhood and person-centeredness as related to nursing and healthcare, and links as well as conflicts between philosophy and person-centered practice.

Abstracts may be presented orally, as a poster or in a symposium/workshop at the conference. Plans are being made for virtual participation

You can find full information, including registration and abstract submission, on the conference website.

The conference is hosted by the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, the department organizing research and educational programmes related to nursing at all levels. The institute includes the University of Gothenburg Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC).
